Please Help: How to Make me a YouTuber!

Yesterday, I spent half a day in the production of this video.

I spent many hours going over cassette tape recordings from my childhood. I was overcome by the feeling of gratitude by so many people’s faith in my musicianship/musicality to nurture me to be the pianist I am today.

I also know, at the same time, that today, many musicians like me are struggling with the uncertainty of our career prospects and the future of the performing arts industry. Those who have recently won an orchestral positions are thinking about alternative careers. Some of my friends, who are worried about their future, sound seriously down.

“Yes, you can be active online, but for free – that’s not sustainable.”

A friend I spoke to yesterday, who is usually the kind that lights up any room she walks into, alarmed me with her much slower speech and heavier, lower vocal tones.

I have a solution!

I have a solution that can both help the performing artists and the world with its challenges. But I need your help.

Our society is full of hard-working and devoted artists, who are seeking opportunities right now. We have had world-class schooling, and many of us possess the terminal degree. We are ethnically and culturally diverse, many of us with international backgrounds and extensive international travels. And organizations such as WHO and NIH endorse music and arts as effective for our well-being, after close examinations of researches on the subject from all over the world. Art is an inexpensive and accessible resource that is easier to distribute than medicine worldwide. And I have the expertise, experience and conviction to effectively strategize the use of the arts to address many of the challenges we are facing.

What I need is a platform. This is where you can help. Help me spread my word. There are many ways to do this, but as far as I can see, for me to distribute my ideas WITH the music, YouTube is one possibility. Please help me reach more people with my videos. Help me become a YouTuber.

Here is a list of ways you can help.

1. Please “like” and comment on my videos.
2. Please share my videos via social media postings, or via email with your friends who may appreciate my music and message.
3. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel. Here is how. (It is absolutely free of charge!!)
4. Please have my videos repeatedly for as many hours as possible.

This is how one becomes a YouTuber. First, you have to clear two conditions. #1 You must have at least one thousand subscribers – currently, I have 1,110 subscribers, so I cleared that although I can always use more. #2 You need to have 4,000 viewing hours – currently, I have 641 hours – this is where I need your help the most.

4,000 hours sound overwhelming, but when you consider that we each have 24 hours x 365 days = 8,760 hours/year, it’s less than a half of one person’s year. If we can spread the load, it’s not very much. However, that’s when you START monetizing on each viewer, and view hour. The good news is, more watched your videos are, more visible it becomes to wider audiences. So, more you watch, more you make my videos more visible to others. That’s how the algorithms works.

• Play one video repeatedly in loop. Here is how to do it.
