The month of May has arrived. I am fully vaccinated. I finished the second draft of my book. I am getting calls for exciting recording projects. The prospects of playing once again with other musicians on fine concert grands inspires me.
With the new energy, I am considering doing another 100-day practice challenge. I made this two-min video as a test-run. If you have any feedback about the camera angle, mic placement, etc, please do let me know.
I have been practicing Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier Book I daily through the winter. Many musicians refer to Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier as the Old Testament. Pablo Casals, the legendary cellist, said that he started his days with three Preludes and Fugues to open up his ears. To me, playing Bach every day in this time of uncertainty grounded me, and opened up not only my ears, but my mind, widening my perspective, encouraging me to focus on the glass half full. I hope all of that somehow communicates through this Fugue to my listeners.
I really enjoyed your fugue playing. I have been working on the toccata eminor. Practicing the fugue , final movement. Priscilla
Btw, the sound is very good.
Thank you for your comment.
So nice to hear from you, and to learn that you too have been working on Bach, Priscilla!!
