My school until this May, The Colburn School in LA, is organizing a charity concert for Japan on Apr. 8, and I was invited. I do know a lot of people in the Japanese/Japanese-American community there, and my going there might mean a lot to them. And as long as I am there, I may try to organize similar events outside of the school. I am still deciding.
I am also planning at least one charity concert in Houston area. The school will help me.
Many RYUGAKUSEIs around the world are doing whatever they can to raise money for Japan.
They are playing music on the streets, selling ORIZURU for $1, playing concert, just standing on streets asking for people’s donations, etc.
But this is going to be a CHO-KISEN. People’s awareness is high right now, so it is good to raise as much money as possible now, but we also have to keep reminding people after the public and media interests wane.
Besides the concerts, I am thinking of many ways in which I may be able to help.
