I am here at the library, about to start my analysis of Bartok’s "Concerto for Orchestra", and another doctorate students, a composer, who is always friendly comes up to me and asks what I am working on. He always smiles at me, and gives me a nice feeling, but we have never had a conversation. I tell him about the presentation I am working on, and he tells me about the paper he is writing on Mendelssohn. It was very nice.
Today at the piano class, we were having a little sight-reading playing. Our teacher, Brian Connelly, had us read-through a whole bunch of two piano, and four hand pieces. It was very fun. We laughed a lot. My class has a lot of really nice people in it.
Now that I am going to LA to participate in the charity concerts, many people are working on maximizing my time there. The community leaders are getting together right now, over dinner, to discuss where to have me play, at what time, and with whom. It is so nice that they think of me so fondly, even after I left the city. I am so grateful, and I will do the best I can to help raise as much money as possible for Japan.
These were the three good things that happened to me, today.

Yes, you understood correctly! Mendelssohn's whole family is interesting. Please read about his sister, Fanny too!
